About Kodiyathur
Kodiyathur was in part of Pannikkode amsham under ‘Pulavai Nattu Raja Vamsham’. History shows that Tippu Sulthan passed through this village from Vayanad to palakkad during his struggle against British.
‘Kodi kutthiya ooru’ (the place where flag is laid), that is Kodiyathur. Most of the flags from mainly thoughts, religious, sub-religious, political, cultural bodies… are positioned here from olden era itself. Even if Kodiyathur is splendid with different thoughts, the village has not been witnessed a communal riots or political assassin up to this date.
The village has get into the national political history through Mohammed Abdurahiman sahib’s last speech and gain entry to the world religious map by Mubahala held at 1989. Kodiyathur has taken part with the national social activities by its protest against feudalism. And its religious education was in its full fledge mainly based on Kodiyathur Juma Masjid.
